Greetings! Welcome to my Freshmen Independent Projects website for my robot!

For my Kihei Charter School Freshman Independent Project (semester 1) , I decided to build a robot.
I went through many different stages in my project. I had many different ideas for what my robot will do as well as many different circuit diagrams and designs. I had MANY discarded codes that just didn't work right. I ran into many problems not just with the code but in the building and electrical circuit stages. This project is a reflection of hard work and I am glad to share it with you.
Part of this project was to encourage other kids to build their own robots. I realized that I had a more resources than some kids because my dad is a mechanical engineer and has all sorts of machines that I could use. However, I also know that many places have public machine shops that people could go to. Even some schools, such as Kihei Charter, even have power tools/machines that students can use (with permission, of course).
One large issue in my project was finding materials/supplies to use. I wanted to make duplicating this project easy for kids from ages 10-99, so I tried to include a shopping list with links to where they could buy the materials I used. I'm also in the process of posting instructions on how I created the robot. That would include everything from designing to building to programming (and everything in-between!).
I am also aware that not everyone will have access to all of the materials and machines I used. Therefore, I am also adding links to other projects that you can work on (from other websites). I am hoping that this website will encourage you, the viewers, to build a robot of your own. It is truly a rewarding and creative project that never truly ends.
I plan on building upon my current robot by adding more sensors, fixing some bugs in the programs (it isn't perfect), and maybe even adding an arm.
